Hong Kong 1st July March

The 1st July marches is an annual event in Hong Kong attended by a myriad of group ranging from political activists to private individuals.

While the differing agendas emphasised by various groups can be confusing at times, the march is generally intended by its participants to be a visual affirmation of their rights.
The 2011 marches were notable for the huge turnout as compared to previous years, likely due to general dissatisfaction with recent policies changes that will likely have a significant effect on the political system of the Hongkong SAR.
